Fred Hodges Training is run by Fred Hodges a freelance coach and rider based in Buckinghamshire.

Fred is an international coach focussed on the Olympic disciplines. As a coach Fred works with riders from all ability levels from grassroots to FEI level and has had great success working with young rider teams. For several years Fred trained the Vale of Aylesbury Pony Club teams and in 2019 they were able to qualify 8 teams for championships at Cholmondely. After this he moved onto training the British Eventing Central Youth Team with Simon Lawrence. In 2022 all three Central Teams finished on the podium with a team win in the CCI 2*.

Fred has worked abroad in the USA, Ireland and regularly in China where he is helping to develop coaches and show jumping riders who are competing in FEI 1.40 classes.
He is a senior lead assessor for the BHS excellence pathway and is regularly engaged with training professionals working towards their BHS exams. He is a successful competitor having ridden in eventing at FEI  3* level and dressage to Prix Saint George. In 2019 Fred produced the elite dressage horse- 4 year old 'Keystone Drumroll' for the owner Tracy Cooper. They finished in the top ten at the BD nationals. He was also very successful with Lisa Kent's 'Leaveittorog' winning the north and south RoR championships at medium level and second place in the national RoR elite performance championship. Fred continues to work with a variety of other horses on behalf of owners.
